Executive Summary

The Maya Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) is a Q’anjob’al Maya Nation owned
organization with 501 C3 Status. To Rebuild our lives as a displaced Indigenous Nation in
Omaha, the Q’anjob’al Maya have adopted the Native Nations Rebuilding (NNR) process by the
Harvard Project on American Indian Economic Development (HPAIED) and Native Nations
Institute (NNI) of the University of Arizona described above. The Q’anjob’al Maya Nation takes
an interdisciplinary, multi-institutional approach to nation rebuilding and development. We
promote public and private investment to implement our earth-based economic development in
urban and rural areas of Nebraska and Maya Territory.
